In a move to ease urban commuting DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation) has approved two new bus routes 192A and 212A, linking travelers directly to 13 key Metro Stations without adding new buses. It will significantly benefits daily commuters and reduces dependence on private vehicles.

These newly approved bus routes stem from rationalizing existing services: Route 192 splits to serve Model Town, Azadpur, Majlis Park, plus interchanges like Kashmere Gate; Route 212A extends to Maujpur-Babarpur, Welcome, Shahdara, Mansarovar Park, Anand Vihar, and Dilshad Garden.

Key Details of the New Bus Routes

Bus Route 192A (bifurcated from existing Route 192: Kashmere Gate to Keshav Nagar): Focused on North and Central Delhi, this route enhances links to high-footfall stations such as:

  • Model Town
  • Azadpur
  • Majlis Park
  • Kashmere Gate
  • Civil Lines
  • Vidhan Sabha
  • Vishwavidyalaya
  • GTB Nagar

It will run with 4 buses, benefiting areas like Burari, Kaushik Enclave, and Keshav Nagar.

Bus Route 212A (bifurcated from existing Route 212: Anand Vihar ISBT to Anand Parvat):
This new bus route significantly boosts connectivity in East Delhi, increasing the number of directly served Metro stations from three to eight. Key stations include:

  • Anand Vihar
  • Dilshad Garden
  • Maujpur–Babarpur
  • Zafrabad
  • Welcome
  • Shahdara
  • Mansarovar Park

The route will operate with 9 buses, improving access for residents travelling along this high-demand corridor.

Combined, the 2 new bus routes provide seamless access to 13 Metro stations, strengthening interchanges and reducing reliance on multiple modes of transport.
